Sangiovese grape can be traced back to ancient Rome, whose name derives from the Latin Sanguis Jovis, “the blood of Jove”, referring to the Roman god of Jupiter. It is most famous as the main component of the Chianti blend in Tuscany.

Vineyard Region: Murray River Northern Victoria.

Grape Variety: 100% Sangiovese

Bottle Size: 750 ml Standard

Winemaking: De-stemmed grapes into open fermenting vats. Juice was inoculated with suitable yeast culture, the cap was hand plunged 3 times daily, with total maceration time of 12 days. The fermented wine (the Must) was pressed into tanks to undergo malolactic fermentation.

Maturation: In 225 Litre new and used French Oak Barrels, for a period of 14 months. The wine was then blended and clarified prior to bottling.

Colour: Intense violet colour to brick red with bottle age.

Aromas: Sweet cherry, strawberries, blackberry, red plum, with a background of chocolate and savoury notes.

Palate: The palate is medium and distinctive with berry fruit, fine texture and soft ripe tannins.

Peak Drinking: Until 2029.
