
Barbera is a red Italian wine grape variety from Piedmont in Northern Italy. It produces good yields and is known for deep colour, full body, low tannins and high level of acidity.

Winemaking: De-stemmed grapes into open fermenting vats. Juice was inoculated with a suitable yeast culture, the cap was hand plunged 3 times daily, with total maceration time of 15 days. The fermented wine was pressed into tanks to undergo malolactic fermentation.
Maturation: In 225 Litre new and used French Oak Barrels, for a period of 14 months. The wine was then blended and clarified prior to bottling.
Colour: Ruby Red.
Aromas: Black cherries and plum fruits are surrounded by notes of mocha.
Palate: Is medium-bodied with mixed spice. Fine tannins give this wine great elegance and a lovely, smooth finish.
Peak Drinking: Until 2031.
